Most recently, she was Beijing Bureau Chief for Voice of America, where she covered the 2008 Olympics, the Sichuan earthquake, ethnic tensions, and a seemingly endless series of important Chinese anniversaries. One highlight was a three-week reporting road trip through the Chinese hinterlands along the historic route of the Communist Army’s Long March. She lives in Beijing.
