Tianjin Public Security Bureau Donates to Orphans, Tibet Public Security Bureau ‘Braves the Winter Cold,’ Shandong Public Security Bureau Meets with Locally-Registered Foreign NGOs

Today, the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) released statistics showing foreign NGO representative offices and temporary activities from January to November of this year.

Today, more than 20 members of the China Cable Chamber of Commerce’s Tianjin Representative Office, in conjunction with the Tianjin Public Security Bureau (PSB) Foreign NGO Management Office carried out a “compassionate activity” at the Tianjin Center for Disabled Orphans’ Care. The activity included donating milk powder, fruit, and several different kinds of medical equipment, in addition to 21,700 renminbi. The Tianjin PSB initially made the introduction between the orphan center and the foreign NGO. (The China Cable Chamber of Commerce is a Hong Kong-based NGO that registered in Tianjin in May and in Beijing in July.)

Today, as part of a national effort to promote knowledge of China’s legal system and institutions, the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) PSB Foreign NGO Management Office conducted publicity activities related to the Foreign NGO Law. This included office personnel “braving the winter cold” to hand out informational materials and answer questions. The TAR Vice-Chairman and head of TAR PSB Liu Jiang also made an appearance.

Today, the Anhui PSB Foreign NGO Management Office presented a registration certificate to Love Without Borders Foundation (United States).

Today, the Shandong PSB Foreign NGO Management Office held a meeting with five foreign NGOs already registered in Qingdao and two in the process of registration. The PSB reported on its work over the last year, as did the registered NGOs. After the meeting, the two as-yet unregistered NGOs consulted with the PSB on related issues.
