North Korean Group Establishes Foreign NGO Representative Office in Jilin Province

According to information on the Ministry of Public Security website, on April 3 a North Korean organization successfully registered its first foreign NGO representative office in China. Located in Changchun city, Jilin province, the North Korea International Trade Promotion Council (朝鲜国际贸易促进委员会) is, not surprisingly, focused on trade promotion between North Korea and Jilin; its registration information states that it has had a trade promotion agreement with the Jilin government since 1995. Its area of permitted operations is limited to Jilin.
