Today, the George Institute for Global Health (Australia) registered a representative office in Beijing. Established in Sydney in 1999, the Institute began working in China in 2007, conducting research on cardiovascular disease, diabetes, nutrition and lifestyle, women and children’s health, injuries, and health policy. Today, the Jilin Public Security Bureau (PSB) Foreign NGO Management Office presented a registration certificate to the first North Korean organization to establish a representative office in mainland China under the Foreign NGO Law, North Korea International Trade Promotion Council. The Jilin PSB stated it would continue to offer convenient service to the Council, hoped it would conduct activities in accordance with the law, and help establish friendly trade relations between China and North Korea. A representative from the Council thanked the PSB for its enthusiastic assistance and expressed its wish to actively contribute to the development of bilateral trade.
Today, the Ministry of Public Security released statistics related to temporary activities and representative offices from January 2017 through March 2018, including information on NGOs’ countries of origin, areas of operation, and Professional Supervisory Units (PSUs).
Today, the deputy head of the Fujian PSB met with the visiting Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Standing Committee Member and Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions (HKFTU) Head Lin Shuyi. The PSB head expressed his congratulations that the HKFTU Hong Ling Society for the Well-Being of the Elderly had successfully established a representative office in Xiamen. After the meeting, the PSB head, the vice-chair of the Fujian General Labor Union (HKFTU Hong Ling Society for the Well-Being of the Elderly’s PSU), and Lin all went to the Society’s offices to present the registration certificate.
