Shaanxi Public Security Bureau Talks Foreign NGOs with Hong Kong Government; Shandong Trains Local Police; Hainan Meets Local PSUs; Liaoning Chats with Slovenian Consulate

August 18, 2017:

On August 16, the Beijing Public Security Bureau (PSB) Foreign NGO Management Office met with Italian NGO “International Cooperation Volunteer Group—Our Homeland,” and presented the group with its registration certificate. Also present were representatives from the China Disabled Person’s Federation and the Italian Embassy.

August 18, 2017:

On August 16, Beijing presented 11 foreign NGOs with representative office registration certificates. These were: UBS Optimus Foundation (Switzerland), Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce (Hong Kong), International Cooperation Volunteer Group—Our Homeland (Italy), International Crane Foundation (United States), Recording Industry Association of Japan, Partnerships for Community Development (Hong Kong), Tokai Japan-China Trade Center, Conference of Asia Pacific Express Carriers (Singapore), Canada China Business Council, The Conference Board (United States), and Asian Federation of Jewelry (Macau).

August 24, 2017:

Today, the Hubei province and Wuhan city PSB Foreign NGO Management Offices met with a representative from the U.S. NGO Rare, which is in the process of registering for a representative office, to discuss the Foreign NGO Law and the registration process. Separately, the Shaanxi PSB Foreign NGO Management Office held a meeting with the Hong Kong government representative stationed in Shaanxi, where they exchanged information about working with social organizations.

August 24, 2017:

Today, the Shandong PSB Foreign NGO Management Office held a training for local police engaged in work with foreign NGOs. Separately, the Hainan PSB Foreign NGO Management Office held a coordinating meeting with local Professional Supervisory Units (PSUs), including the provincial Forestry Department, the Overseas Affairs Office, the Education Working Commmittee, and the Department of Civil Affairs. The Deputy Head of the Hainan PSB emphasized that PSUs should have an open and tolerant mindset and cooperate with Foreign NGOs according to the law.

August 24, 2017:

Today, the Liaoning PSB Foreign NGO Management Office granted a registration certificate to the China-Britain Business Council. Separately, the Guangdong PSB Foreign NGO Management Office granted a certificate to the Canada-China Children’s Health Foundation.

August 24, 2017:

Today, the Liaoning PSB Foreign NGO Management Office met with the Slovenian consul general and discussed registration of the Slovenian Business Club.
