As reported by Chinanews.com, on March 26 the Guangdong Public Security Bureau (PSB) Foreign NGO Management Office gave six foreign NGOs a “2017 Exceptional Representative Office Award.” These foreign NGOs were: The Chinese General Chamber of Commerce (Hong Kong), The Federation of Hong Kong Industries, Tin Ka Ping Foundation (Hong Kong), Taiwan Trade Center, Canada-China Children’s Health Foundation, and Delegations of German Industry & Commerce.Read more

According to information on the Ministry of Public Security website, on April 3 a North Korean organization successfully registered its first foreign NGO representative office in China. Located in Changchun city, Jilin province, the North Korea International Trade Promotion Council (朝鲜国际贸易促进委员会) is, not surprisingly, focused on trade promotion between North Korea and Jilin; its registration information states that it has had a trade promotion agreement with the Jilin government since 1995. Today, the Jiangxi Foreign NGO Management Office and the provincial Department of Civil Affairs sent personnel to Pingxiang City to visit the Luxi County Children’s Care Center, run by The Chinese Agape Foundation (United States). The government personnel met with the head of the Center and viewed Center facilities such as the dormitories and cafeteria.
