Harold Hongju Koh is Sterling Professor of International Law and former Dean at Yale Law School. He has served four U.S. presidents in five decades in various positions, including as Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor in the Clinton Administration, and as Legal Adviser of the U.S. Department of State in the Obama Administration. The author or co-author of 10 books and many articles, he has received 18 honorary degrees, dozens of human rights awards, and awards from Columbia and Duke Law Schools, the Burton Awards, and the American Bar Association for his lifetime achievements in international law.
